Winters Disposition
South Tyrol, Italy
Overnight snowfall reshaped the forest briefly, softening the landscape into layered bands of light and shadow. By first light, the scene felt momentary, already beginning to change.
From the roadside, the composition revealed itself in waves. Some trees stood fully washed in white, their detail muted and fragile, while others held onto deeper tones, anchoring the frame with contrast. The rhythm between them gave the forest a quiet movement, almost like a tide passing through the slopes.
There was no time to wait. As the temperature rose, the snow began to fall away, returning the forest to its usual state. This image exists only in that narrow window, a winter arrangement held just long enough to be seen.
