Celestial Valley
Zermatt, Switzerland
This was a view I had carried with me for years. With only a single evening to witness it, the mountain didn’t hold back.
The Matterhorn rises clean and unmistakable, its silhouette cutting into the last colour left in the sky. Below, Zermatt begins to glow. Warm light spills from the town as the surrounding mountains fall into shadow, creating a quiet tension between shelter and exposure.
The frame is built in layers: sky, peak, valley, and village. Each holding its place as the light fades. The town feels almost celestial, a dense constellation pressed into the snow, thriving beneath a landscape that feels vast and unforgiving.
It’s an image about endurance as much as beauty. A place shaped by extremes, held together by light.
