An Evening in Venice

Venice, Italy

Venice is defined by its movement. Gondolas are everywhere, as familiar as taxis in a city built on water. When night falls, they return to rest, lining the edges of the lagoon, though they never truly stop moving. The water keeps them in motion, even when the day is done.

That quiet restlessness became the focus here. Anchored against the posts, the boats shift and blur, neither fully still nor fully free, their forms dissolving slightly with each passing moment. Blue hour settles over the scene, echoing the cool tones of water and sky, softening everything it touches.

Beyond them, the city held steady, quiet and distant, offering no urgency. The balance between fixed and fluid became the focus, a familiar place reduced to rhythm, repetition, and restraint.
