Pause

Tarragona, Spain

This view is part of the everyday rhythm of the town, a coastline passed during evening walks, familiar and often unnoticed. Nothing about it asks for attention.

And yet, on this evening, the sky shifted. Colour gathered quickly, spreading across the horizon and interrupting the routine. People slowed. Conversations stopped. Even those who had seen this view countless times found themselves standing still.

I worked instinctively, adjusting as the light changed, allowing the panoramic frame to hold the full breadth of the moment. The palms became silhouettes, anchoring the scene while everything else moved around them.

It’s a photograph shaped by contrast, the drama of the sky against the simplicity of a place lived in daily, a reminder that even the most familiar landscapes have the power to pause us in our stride.
