Monolith in the Mist
Isle of Skye, Scotland
The mountain revealed itself in fragments. Snow settled into the rock in narrow bands, tracing the structure rather than softening it. Above, the cloud pressed low and heavy, obscuring the summit and collapsing the sense of scale.
The composition is pared back and deliberate. Dark stone rises from shadow, its form interrupted only by the mist drifting across the face. Light breaks through briefly, enough to define edges before they disappear again.
This was one of the final images from our NC500 journey. Unresolved, quiet, and uncompromising. A landscape that never fully gives itself away.
