Solitude
Normandy, France
With the light dropping quickly, I hesitated on the edge of the marshland, knowing the view I wanted sat just out of reach. Shoes in one hand, tripod in the other, I crossed the mud and rock, wading through cold water until the ground finally opened up.
Blue hour arrived as I settled into place. Two distinct layers of cloud moved slowly overhead, introducing a quiet tension against the stillness below. A thirty-second exposure softened the water and stripped the scene back to tone, form, and movement.
For a place so heavily photographed, the moment felt unexpectedly private. Mont Saint-Michel reduced to silhouette and atmosphere, distant, calm, and briefly alone.
