Aurora Bliss
Provence, France
Valensole is often photographed for its scale and spectacle, but this morning felt quieter. Late in the season, the fields were still standing, uninterrupted, and empty. No movement, no noise, just long rows of lavender settling into the day.
The composition is built on repetition and restraint. Parallel lines run cleanly through the frame, guiding the eye toward a single tree positioned deliberately against the horizon. The structure of the landscape does the work, allowing the colour to sit without overwhelming it.
Soft pinks drift across the sky, held gently above the purple below, creating a balance rather than a contrast. The scene feels measured and resolved. A well-known place, stripped back and allowed to exist on its own terms.
