Narrow

Tossa De Mar, Spain

This scene first revealed itself during a quiet walk through Tossa de Mar, long after the day had settled. With no expectations, only an awareness of form and space, the composition stayed with me, enough to return before sunrise and wait for the light to arrive.

As morning crept in, the street began to shift. The warm glow of the lamp held on briefly, set against the cooler tones of the waking sky and the darker undergrowth below. Stone, shadow, and light found their balance for a moment before changing again.

Just minutes after sunrise, the lamp switched off. The window was smaller than I realised. This image sits in that narrow space between night and day, where artificial light fades, natural light takes hold, and the town quietly moves on.
