Between Two Worlds
Cornwall, England
A calm summer morning along the Cornish coast. With the tide high, the causeway disappeared, leaving St Michael’s Mount momentarily detached from the mainland. The separation felt deliberate, as though the island had paused in place.
Soft pinks and muted purples settled across the sky, holding the scene in balance. The village below sat quietly, grounding the composition and allowing the mount to rise without dominance.
While the location is often associated with dramatic evenings, the stillness of early morning revealed something gentler. Light arrived slowly, shadows lifting without urgency. For a brief time, the island existed between states, neither fully connected nor completely isolated.
