Golden Path
Lake District, England
A narrow woodland trail, gently bending through a stand of larch in late autumn. The trees rise evenly on either side, their thinning needles holding a soft, muted gold against the darker trunks and ground below.
The composition relies on repetition and pacing. Vertical lines steady the frame, while the path introduces just enough movement to carry the eye forward without urgency. Nothing competes for attention. The colour sits calmly within the structure of the scene.
Taken near the end of the season, this moment felt settled rather than fleeting. A familiar walk, reduced to rhythm, balance, and quiet progression.
